Service provider network separation

A multinational Tier 1 service provider separated a subsidiary as part of a major UK telecommunications merger. Rockwey consultants supported the network separation, integration and migration programme. Activities included:

• HLD/LLD documents and processes to separate the spin off network
• HLD/LLD documents to join the spin off network to the acquiring telecoms company
• Security HLD/LLD to define security design best practices and firewall design
• Firewall security rule base definition and implementation
• Build of the new MPLS overlay network
• Migration of key services from the service provider to the new telecoms network
• Project management of all work packages in the transition programme

Network divestment project management

Following the merger of two large European service providers, the European Commission required the divestment of several acquired data centres. Rockwey provided project management across the network workstream, from requirements and design approval through to rollout and operational handover. Activities included:

• Requirements gathering
• High level design sign off and approval
• Low level design sign off and approval
• Implementation test planning
• Network rollout and deployment
• Customer handover

Service provider fabric and enterprise WAN build out

A large service provider engaged Rockwey consultants to design and build out its enterprise WAN and data centre fabrics across an estate of equipment from multiple vendors. The programme covered the MPLS WAN and EVPN spine and leaf fabrics from design through to production. Activities included:

• HLD/LLD for the MPLS WAN and the EVPN spine and leaf fabrics
• EVPN fabric design and interoperability validation across vendors
• Build out of the MPLS WAN across core and edge sites
• Spine and leaf fabric build and integration with the enterprise WAN
• Migration of services onto the new fabrics and handover to operations

GPU as a service proof of concept

A client evaluating a service for consuming AI models hosted on private GPU infrastructure engaged Rockwey to support the proof of concept. Rockwey helped plan, run and conclude the PoC, giving the client an evidence based view of the options, the key risks and the work required for production adoption.
